The inadequate oversight led to schedule delays. We were provided a 8-10 week schedule per proposal which ultimately concluded at 15 weeks. Obviously, this delay significantly impacted personnel plans and resulted in increased stress within our home.
I have always dealt with Travis. He is a class act and so is his work!!! He can do anything that your house needs.
I worked with Travis Bull and highly recommend he and Ronnie Bull construction. They were very responsive, caring, and helpful in making suggestions and recommendations in ways that improved the project.
The root of all these problems was poor communication and inadequate attention to detail.
Throughout the project, inadequate oversight led to multiple flawed assumptions such as misplacement of HVAC unit in an unsightly location, not near other units, door frame height which was too high for our planned concrete finished floors, poor electrical switch placement (in the middle of walls or ceilings, yes I said ceilings). Some of these issues could not be remedied and the ones that could were at our expense. He did not even offer to correct the door height frame although was glad to explain to us how to do it. We also discovered work that was incomplete after payment which was a missing ventilation cover. There were un-square door frame, sliding closet doors are not square, trim paint uncompleted.
The inadequate oversight and schedule delays resulted in cost overruns. As previously mentioned, some of the mistakes were repairable but at additional cost to us. For example, the contractor chose to do smooth ceilings without confirming our choice, which was poorly done and didn't match the rest of our home which has knock down ceilings. We had to pay for the cost of removing light fixtures ($300) for the knock down to be done. The general contractor assumed NO responsibility for any mistakes or poor craftsmanship regardless of the expense to repair, although did admit to arrogance for his excuse to why he made decisions about what we wanted in our home. Further, his subcontractors were inconsiderate. Not only was I tired of picking up cigarette butts, but there were some miscellaneous items in the basement that were moved outside, one of which was a woven rug. This could have simply been covered up but it was left out to be rained on and damaged beyond use.
I can't speak for any others experiences, but I'm a very satisfied customer and really would not consider using someone else moving forward should I do any other projects. I highly recommend them!
While everything started out fine, we were incredibly disappointed with the aloofness, arrogance and lack of attention to detail conducted during our basement construction project. Our vision of a contractor is someone who maintains oversight, schedule and budget of a project. His strength is closing the deal; for instance, to get his foot in the door he simply dropped off material in our yard without a signed contract.
I have done several projects now with Ronnie Bull Construction and have been very pleased in all cases! Most recently, I did a large addition to my house that included two roof additions, as well as a specialized deck that includes a sunken spa. The attention to detail and the quality of finished work product actually exceeded my expectation. The additions look as though they were "there from the beginning" vs. the way some additions look after the fact.
